Our Story
In 1947 it was a hard winter when Rhiw farmland and farmhouse came for sale it was bought and David Davies my Great Grandfather. As it was the land he wanted he sold the farmhouse to the YHA Association where it was run as a hostel . In 2023 the hostel came on the market and the family saw opportunity to purchase the farmhouse back to the family ownership.
The property has now been updated and now back offering wonderful affordable location for up to 16 guests to relax and unwind on the hillside enjoying the wonderful Welsh countryside.
About Rhiw Farmhouse - Rowen
The Farmhouse is a walkers paradise with access straight to the Carneddau mountains a perfect rural retreat tucked away up the hillside. Here you can unwind and let the undulating landscape work its magic on you! A former hostel the aim is continue to offer comfortable , clean accommodation for family gatherings, walking groups or similar adventure groups.
This is a place to truly get away from all the stresses and pressures of daily life.
Located on the outskirt above the village of Rowen the village pub is within a mile . Only 15min drive from Conwy and all the popular attractions of North Wales. The Farmhouse is the perfect location for hikers, climbers and mountain bikers great for guests wishing to explore the Welsh 3000, Carneddau Mountains and Snowdonia National Park and only 30 min drive from Snowdon and Zip World.
Great location to explore North Wales or why not have an easy evening walk up to the top of Tal y fan mountain and take in the sunset over the North Wales coast and just 30 min hike from the back door!

The town of Conwy is only 15 min drive from the site. Explore the walled town and wonderful castle or the smallest house in Britain.
